HELP!<br><br>
I am breastfeeding and my poor baby has gas!!! It seems like I can't eat anything. I've read Im should not eat peanut (peanut butter), beans, tomatoes, green peppers . . .<br><br><br><br>
Does anyone have a good diet to go on while breastfeeding to reduce the babys gas?<br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/undecided.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":-/">

I have no advice for you. I always have gas. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/laugh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":lol:">

The most common sensitivities are to protein antigens that are found in cow's milk, soy, wheat, fish, corn, eggs and nuts. Do you know the exact food that is causing it? I would take that food out for a couple of weeks and than introduce it back if you want. If your baby is still fussy/gassy I would consult a lactation consultant who can find out more about your diet and maybe what is causing problems for your baby. Good luck!

doing an elimination diet in stages should help. support from a Le Leche League meeting/group would probably be helpful. lelecheleague.org is their web site, i think.

I hope your problem has improved since you posted. My daughter had bad gas and colic no matter what I ate. I tried everything. I suspect that she drank too quickly and gulped in some air, but it's also a question of temperament. Gas drops definitely help, and so will fennel seed tea or oil. It usually gets better when they are around 10-12 weeks old. Though in my experience, a gassy/colicky baby will always remain a rather fussy, high strung, temperamental child...
