What do you do when you see a spider?

If they're hanging around on the ceiling, I leave them be. If they're crawling around in the bathtub or the counters, they get relocated via the cup/card method.

What was your favourite book from your childhood?

I was a horse-crazy kid, so I loved the Black Stallion books.

Can you sew?

My mom taught me, but I'm not particularly good at it. I can hem pants and sew on buttons, that's about it.

Do you collect anything?

Books, but that's more an obsession than a collection. Other than that, no. I hate knick knacks.

Do you have tattoos or piercings?

I am mostly unmodified, just my ears pierced once.

I hardly ever wear jewelry, but I have a shell necklace that my sister bought for me in Hawaii that I'm fond of. The shell is carved to look like a flower.

Kickin' around at home: Shoes, socks, sandals, slippers or barefoot?

Usually barefoot, or socks when it gets chilly.

What's your favorite kind of movie? Do you have a favorite 3-hanky weeper?

I like sci-fi fantasy movies and the occasional romance (if it's done well and not cheesy). I don't usually cry at movies, unless it's something like Peaceable Kingdom.

What's your favorite ethnic cuisine?

Thai and Lebanese

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a veterinarian all through school, right up until I was pre-vet in college and discovered that I'm really not very good at the hard sciences.

How are you feeling at this exact moment in time?

A bit peevish because I'm going back to class after a week off and I really don't want to.

What are you planning to have for supper?

Leftovers! Chickpea Quinoa loaf, brussles sprouts potatoes and gravy.

Coffee, tea or neither?

Tea, Earl Grey, hot (or green jasmine)

Do you burn incense?

I used to burn Nag Champa every day, but my roommate really doesn't like it, so I stick to candles.

What exactly is 'Digital Techonolgy and Culture'?

It is a interdiciplinary program that integrates critical thinking, creative skills, and computer programming with course work in the Humanities and Social Sciences. In other words, it's like an English degree with computers.

Do you have plans for after you graduate? (And Congrats, BTW!)

Thanks! I was planning on going straight to graduate school next year and getting a Masters in Library Science. Now I think I'm going to take at least a year off from school, so my plans are a little more vague at this point. Find a job and move to Portland is pretty much it.

1. Is it hard being smart?

Ha! Becoming educated can be a challenge. Having people think I'm smart is harder.

2. can i borrow your super hot boyfriend?

Nooo! Mine! Hehe

3. do you wear gloves while doing the dishes?

Nope. Between the eczema and nail biting my hands are sort of a mess anyway.

4. what's your favorite cartoon?

Futurama

Tropical, rainy jungle or hot, dry desert?

If you could only have one "beauty" product, what would it be? (lotion, chapstick, mascara, etc...)

What are some songs that evoke strong emotion (positive or negative)?

When I assume I know what other people are thinking/feeling I'm very often spectacularly wrong.

Do you like peanut butter? Smooth or crunchy

Loooove peanut butter. Crunchy for sandwiches but smooth for everything else.

What's the best thing about the SFP thread?

The awesome Sluts, of course.
It's also a good place for rambling my random thoughts.

Do you have a favorite thing to do and/or place to go to relax? Share!

My favorite place to relax is at home with a glass of port and a book or movie.

What's something you would like to learn how to do?

I want to learn Tai Chi when I have money to take classes, and I'm hoping to learn how to knit this winter.

What were you like as a child? Quiet/shy, loud/rambunctious?

I was very introverted and shy.

Did you get into trouble or were you a model child?

Somewhere in the middle. I got away with some stuff because my brother was something of a trouble maker. I guess I seemed like a model child by comparison.

How many pets have you ever had at one time?

I have three cats now, which is the most I've had as an adult. When I was a kid at one time we had two dogs, two cats, two rabbits and a goat.

Can you swim?

Like a fish

Describe your dream house/location.

If money were no object, I'd love to buy one of the beautiful old Victorian houses in southeast Portland and remodel it into a "green" house.

Tropical, rainy jungle or hot, dry desert?

I hate the heat, but I'll take dry desert over bug infested jungle any day.

If you could only have one "beauty" product, what would it be? (lotion, chapstick, mascara, etc...)

I don't think I would survive winter without Dream Cream lotion.

What are some songs that evoke strong emotion (positive or negative)?

Johnny Cash - Hurt

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings

Joan Osborne - What Becomes of the Broken Hearted

Stravinsky - Finale of the Firebird Suite
