Nothing gets me more bothered than eating at a really nice restaurant that treats vegetarians and vegans like an after thought. I am sad to say it happened this past weekend at one of my favorite (no more) restaurants, Gramercy Tavern in NYC. The restaurant used to have a great vegetable tasting menu, but this past Saturday I was served a whole lot of warm tomatoes, some corn and some eggplant (served in a few different courses with a little other food). Not much protein or iron. So I will vote by not eating at Gramercy Tavern anymore. LMK what restaurants you all love for veg tasting menus and which you hate: www.nomeatnoproblem.wordpress.com

I'm just happy to get an option other than salad or even plain fries when I'm out. I'm at Legoland today and they had plain linguine with a can of tomatoes and I loved it. When I'm out and find some actual meals I get so happy. Full, delicious complete vegan meals are nice, but I'm happy to just get some option!

I hate going to restaurants with friends that say to me "they should serve salad...". I'm sorry but when everyone at the table has plates filled a salad isn't going to cut it for me. Some lettuce and tomato with dressing is not a meal. If I get to choose the place I usually request Montana's. They have quite a few really tasty non-meat dishes.

I don't really go to restaurants, but in June I had to go to one for my brother's wedding dinner. My brother's father-in-law said he went out of his way to find a restaurant with vegan options (which was very sweet of him!) but all they had was a salad, LOL. So yeah, it's disappointing, but a salad with oil and vinegar sometimes just has to be enough.

Later on I ended up getting stuffed grape leaves, hummus, pita, and chickpea salad from the supermarket and ate it in the hotel room. I was VERY happy, lol!
