OK, so I imported into my delicious account all my bookmarks at home at work, from backflip (which I stopped using long ago) and yahoo.

But I don't really find delicious that easy to use. I'd like to have all my bookmarks in one place, be able to use multiple computers, use tags so things aren't stuck in one category, but I'd like to be able to "filter" my bookmarks that I use at work. I don't want there to be any way for my erotic photos bookmarks, for example, to show up in my work browser. I also do not like that now I have to do a search to find a bookmark that before I used to know was just at the top of such and such category. I like being able to see a list. I am a visual person and I remember the location of bookmarks, not how I tagged them.

Now I find myself just plugging it into google instead of using delicious.

What alternatives do people here find useful?

Set up another delicious account for your sensitive stuff and try the bundle option to group subtopics under broader categories. There are Firefox extensions and Greasemonkey scripts that make using delicious easier. Or you could just move some entries to another service like Magnolia.

I don't know if this table helps you Thalia, but with these (Google) keywords I found this site with software comparison table:

"bookmarks delicious magnolia"

http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives...ng_faceoff.php

Concept is new to me sharing your bookmarks, I mean its kinda personal ain't it ?..... unless you can organize whatever you are willing to share of course, using whatever software or manual handling you might to achieve that ...Just a thought (of mine primarily).

Anyway, AS FOR MYSELF, what I'm about doing (AMONGST OTHER SOFTWARE ASSESSMENT IN MY OWN THREAD) if you don't mind me using your thread Thalia is obtaining a program do handle my bookmarks in a way which far excells the IE6 and any microsoft browser rubbish attempt at being versatile_

Soooooooo, if anybody knows of any program thats practical for bookmarks (and that might even look good as a bonus) and even better might help directly or plays a part in making backups for the bookmarks wherever they be located, that would a top find, suggestions!?!!??

I think just setting up another account for the sensitive stuff is the way to go. Use one username at work that has work safe stuff, and another at home that has everything.
