Just curious... not trying to start a debate...

Ok, I saw on Primetime tonight about people who feel as if they were meant to be amputees... I believe it was a reapeat, I'm sure I've seen the same episode before...

Anyway... I was just curious on others views on that. Such as compared to those who change their sex. Or for that matter, their breasts/noses/ears, etc......

What do you think of sex changes as compared to those who want to amputate a part of their body? I noticed those who wanted to lose a limb said they just feel like that's how they were meant to be, as do those who get sex changes.

Perhaps breast implants and nose jobs aren't on the same level (though maybe they are... they have seemed to be more out of vanity-not assuming-but society seems to have more of an influence on things like that, where as sex changes seem to be more personal/how you're born than society influenced) I don't want to get cursed out from anything I've said, to each their own, I'm don't judge nor assume-just wanna make that clear...

I'm just honestly curious how everyone feels about the voluntary amputation vs any other body modification... (sex changes is just what happened to pop into my mind )

ETA: I don't personally feel as if I need anything amputated... I've always been all for anyone who feels as if they need to modify themselves in way that makes them feel more like "themselves"... yet after seeing people wanting to have body parts amputated (legs, hands...) I was like, wth? Perhaps because my mom had one of her legs partially amputated from a car accident (before I was even a thought), and knowing the physical pain she suffered due to it is maybe why I can't understand that... but my mind couldn't help but think in another direction... such as if someone felt that was how they were meant to be, then what makes it different from, for instance, as i've said, a sex change? Just made me curious.
