Hi everyone

Today in class i had my blood pressure checked by a teacher/former nurse. My reading was 127/76 which she said was "textbook", as you can imagine i was quite pleased with that. However, upon further research i've found that it's not at all textbook and that being over 120, while not posing immediate danger, is something that should be put right. I'm only 20, vegan for a year and am of very slim build.

My question is this: how do i go about reducing it ever so slightly?

Also, what's everyone else's BP here.

Merci

last one was 140/94, so a bit high.

I can tell you as a medical-type personage that 120ish is fine. Your BP will fluctuate depending on all sorts of things like whether you are standing or sitting, how hydrated you are, how relaxed or stressed you happen to be, bla bla bla. You don't need to worry.

Check it at a self check place a few times over the course of a month. Could just be "white coat syndrome".
I notice mine is never particularly high, but it's lowest when I exercise regularly.

127/76 sounds fine for a blood pressure. The standards of 'normal' and 'high' get changed frequently it seems ((normal used to be 120/80, now a reading like that could be considered 'pre-hypertension'....what??)).

Mine is pretty much always 90/60. When I'm sick or dehydrated, it gets lower and I start to get the dizzies!
