this realy good mexican place down the street. I asked one day if the refreid beans were vegetarian they said yes. I ate them many times(we go there a lot) before the owner informed me that the waiter had it wrong and they had lard in them. I was so grossed out.

UGH. gelatin. I ate sour gummy worms without checking, and I ate the whole bad until my boyfriend asked "don't gummy worms have gelatin in them?" I was like no not this brand *starts reading ingredients out loud to show him I was right* .. "gelatin" *swears very loudly* Yeah, always checking ingredients now. That also happened with starbursts. Also, around christmas we had out M&Ms and by habbit I grabbed two, but them in my mouth, and then realized what I had just done. I spit them out, and was angry at myself. I'm very good at screwing up with my veganism.

Gelatine was my big problem for many many years when I was growing up...I hate that I used to eat it as I was brought up to be vegetarian! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/spew.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":spew:"><br><br><br><br>
I only just found out that Trebor's extra strong mints and some mint imperials have it as well...I don't know why it's necessary! I don't think I've eaten any without knowing though in recent years, I always check...
