Is it bad if I want to just eat it out of the container!?!?! LOL. That stuff is sooooooooo good. I didn't eat a large amount....just a tiny bit on my finger, but damn! So what is it good to put in? I made baked beans last night and had blackstrap molasses in them. I've read that it is really good for you, so I've just been wanting to cook/bake some things with it.

I haven't tried this, but if you like it that much, you might want to try out the blackstrap molasses taffy recipe here:

Taffy Recipe

We use it in baked beans, oatmeal and raisin bread (a couple of spoons for a 1-pound sized loaf).

I love to stir it into plant based milks too, especially oat milk.

Check out http://veganlunchbox.com Follow the schmoo food recipe thread and you will find a recipe for blackstrap molasses gingerbread. It is absolutely delicious and very easy to make....only one pan, you mix it in the pan you bake it in.

Ugh! I once did an O Chem lab with blackstrap to distill it into rum and the stuff looked aweful! Pre and post distilling. Crazy that people actually eat it and not feed it to pigs.

I only started eating blackstrap molasses when I found out I was low in iron. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't eat it! It probably tastes better in a baking recipe. So far, I've only used it for breakfast, usually as a substitute for syrup on a waffle, or on toast/english muffin.

Where does one find blackstrap molasses? Do regular grocery stores usually carry it? When I was a new veg, I went looking for it in my store's baking aisle and didn't find it. I kind of forgot about it until now, so I haven't looked at Whole Foods.
