Hope this is the right forum. If not, I apologize. I received this email from The Vegan Society today. Thought it would be a neat thing to do, and posted it here in case anyone else is interested.

Donald Watson the gentleman who formed the word vegan and founded The Vegan Society in November 1944 will be 93 in early September.

If anyone would like to send Birthday cards or words of thanks they should do it in the next few weeks to allow time for us to pass them on.

Please send wishes to:

I was looking on World Vegan Day, and there was a thread about the [horrendous] Atkins diet, and why has that diet gotten 3 million people doing it, and why doesn't veganism take on millions of new 'members'?

Someone there suggested that people start calling a Vegan diet the "Watson Diet".

If it has a specific name, maybe people will jump on board!
