I want to try some flavored bouillon the next time I make seitan, and I'm wondering if you have any recommendations as to the ones that taste the best. I'm thinking of getting the Superior Touch No Beef and No Chicken bases

http://www.superiortouch.com/retail/...getarian-bases

but if you have other ones that are tasty and worth the money, please post.

Thanks!

Better Than Boullion!!!
They really are concentrated, and not too salty. I bought two of each when they went on sale. The no chicken and beef really have the right seasonings, and the vegetable is complex-not all carrotty, or cabbagy.
Need to add- they have real chicken and beef boullion, and are usually right next to the NO ones! Look at what you have as you put it in your basket!
The other ones looks way too salty.

The better than boullion mushroom has dairy.

Thanks Silva! I haven't seen them at the grocery store, so was just going to order them online. Which stores have you seen them at?

I hate the insane amount of sodium in most veggie stocks/bouillons. I checked out the ones you listed and for half a cube it's at least 800mg
I know you're looking to experiment with different flavors, but if you want a much lower sodium bouillon, I've been using Rapunzel's, which has only 130mg of sodium per 1/2 cube.

No Salt Added Veggie Bouillon

They only have about three kinds, sadly, but I'm glad they are't super loaded with sodium.

Our local NFS, Mustard Seed, has them, and I've seen it at Whole Foods. I know they weren't more than $5.00 reg. price.
My regular grocery only carries the meat based stuff.
