My boyfriend has asked for a rice cooker for Christmas.<br><br>
Does anybody have one they would recommend?

I have an Aroma brand one, and I really like it, we've had it for a year or two and have had no problems at all, and it has different settings and stuff. I'm not sure what model it is because I found it at our door one day and my mom let me keep it, and I threw away the box.

I love the one I have from Pampered Chef. It was $20 and goes in the microwave. Not good for anyone who doesn't like to cook rice in the microwave, however. I just find it makes perfect rice every time, whether I make brown, basmati or plain old regular white rice. It's awesome for making quinoa too. And clean up is a breeze.

I decided to go with DJ's suggestion and go with an aroma. I've narrowed it down to <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325&tag=veggieboards.com-20&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FAroma-ARC-914SB-4-Cup-Rice-Cooker%2Fdp%2FB001OM608E%2Fref%3Dsr_1_7%3Fie%3DUTF8%26qid%3D1324310618%26sr%3D8-7" target="_blank">this one</a> or <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325&tag=veggieboards.com-20&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FAroma-ARC-743-1NGB-6-Cup-Cooker-Steamer%2Fdp%2FB004O83YVQ%2Fref%3Dsr_1_8%3Fie%3DUTF8%26qid%3D1324310754%26sr%3D8-8" target="_blank">this one</a>.<br><br><br>
The stainless steel would go with the rest of the appliances, but I like the idea of having steamer. We have a small, poorly planned out kitchen, so it probably wouldn't live on top of the counter.<br><br>
Thoughts?

I say go with the steamer one, since it's a 6-cup, it has the steamer, and yet somehow it's cheaper than the 4-cup without the steamer. Mine doesn't have a steamer, now I wish it did, because I end up getting lazy and just throwing a frozen bag of veggies in the microwave to go with my rice.

That's the one I was leaning towards. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)">

I know you already bought one. But! For anyone else just coming to this thread, I suggest this one:<br><br><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325&tag=veggieboards.com-20&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fproduct%2FB001G8Y33A%2Fref%3Das_li_ss_tl%3Fie%3DUTF8%26tag%3Dbettevegetpro-20%26linkCode%3Das2%26camp%3D1789%26creative%3D390957%26creativeASIN%3DB001G8Y33A" target="_blank">VitaClay VM7900-6 Smart 6-Cup Programmable Multi-Cooker</a>
