This has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen posted on a marquee. There is a butcher shop arounf the corner from my hiuse called Beef Palace. The most nauseating stench permeates from the doors of that place. It's right next to the only Rite Aid in my area. When I was pregnant, I would gag SO hard every time I went to the pharmacy.

Anyhow, they have several different signs in their window that has "factual" information about how "healthy" beef is, and how humans NEED meat to thrive....LOL!!

Everytime I see this statement on their marquee, I just shake my head. I want to send them a letter...I just don't know where to start.

Right. My DNA makes red meat just like a cow's DNA makes red meat. Our meat is like their meat. That quote somehow makes cow's meat seem even more unappetizing to me...

It doesn't even make any sense! If your DNA makes red meat, you don't need to eat it to get red meat! You get it from your DNA!

That's exactly what I was thinking. By their logic, human flesh should be sufficient

So does this make Jeffrey Dahmer the ultimate health food enthusiast?

Yeah, that's just what I was thinking. They want you to... eat..... yourself? What?

That's OK, if people start eating people because of their sign, they'll lose sales pretty quickly and have to close down.

Uh…I just thought of something. Aren’t proteins assembled on ribosomal RNA? Your DNA doesn’t make anything even resembling red meat. Your DNA manufactures RNA templates upon which all amino acid polymers are sequenced, right?

Time to go find my freshman physiology texts, if I even still have them…

They're right about humans being red-meat, but it's not like it's any new information. Those who've attended anatomy classes knew this hundreds of years ago. I sat in on two gross anatomy classes as an art student and believe me, human meat looks creepily like cow meat. And yet this does not make me want to eat cattle any more than I currently do. It made me very glad I'm a vegetarian, in fact. Ick.

Washoe, I believe you're right but reality is too complex for soundbites

I think someone's taking the "you are what you eat" saying too seriously.
