Bear baiting, which involves leaving caches of food (donuts, pizza, grease, and rotting meats) for hungry bears while hunters lie in wait, is currently legal in just nine states: Maine, New Hampshire, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Alaska.
