Well, as a few of you may know, I've been struggling with some term paper and reading issues lately. Well, I didn't finish the last quarter of the essay, but I'm stuck and I will just have to take partial credit.<br><br><br><br>
I had a bit of a breakdown today and it seems I may have to face the fact that I'm dealing with a more important mental/psychological issue - perhaps ADHD, anxiety... I don't know. It is a problem that has haunted me for some time, and, sitting, staring at a piece paper, barely able to comprehend word after word, it's like I lost all but the most basic form of literacy, and suddenly today I can barely glance at a written word without complete and utter fear and panic. Well, I think I have to face my demons.<br><br><br><br>
I'm going to head down to my parent's in Gaithersburg (near DC, about 2 hours from me) for a few days away to reflect and hopefully get some help from my sister and aunt, both teachers, the latter a counselor. I don't know what to do. I just don't know what to do.<br><br><br><br>

I'm glad to hear you've managed to take some time off are able to go somewhere with a little change of scenery. Take care of yourself!

Take care of yourself, Max. Something I do when I feel something is overwhelming is to ask myself--"Will this matter to me when I'm at the end of my life? Will it matter ten years from now? Five years? Will it even matter a year from now?" It helps me put my own little "disasters" in perspective.

Utter fear and panic...I can relate to that becoz even though I'm not a student, we all have to study and learn in some form that which life throws at us to piss us off in every way possible... and<br><br>
so when it comes to stumbling mental blocks etc, just remember that the piece of paper or literature sat on your desk glaring at you need not be better than you just becoz it imposes a sense of daunting, so don't let it make you feel inadequete or inferior, you can beat it somehow, even if its just by acknowledging you are worthy in your own right... so don't let your self-esteem take a nose-dive over it will you please!!!!!? If you allow yourself credit for what you can do your abilities can shine thru all the more.. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)">

I'M DOING IT AGAIN!!!! I CAN'T DO ANYTHING!!! i can't write my paper I can't recopy my psych notes I can't find my gre study guide i can't focus on a DAMN THING... #@$%^ HATE ANGER FRUSTRATION#@$%#$%

woah, you need to do some meditation or something to get your mind back on track.<br><br><br><br>
i go through the same thing though, every time i try to get some work done on the magazine thing.<br><br>
maybe you need your roommate to lock you in the bathroom for a couple hours with your work. nothing to distract you and no possibility of wandering off and doing something else.

LF - you're abs'ly right as usual - I need to work in a meditation practice to my daily routine. I'm working out the yoga thing too, which should help. I need to spend tomorrow buried in the library. I just went for a run. Just a mile, but it felt good because now I'm all sweaty.
