I was jus thinking about Canton.

like 5 years ago, you could buy a place in Canton for $5,000

now they have one room apartments going for $2,000+ a month

it's like a mini-Columbia. PreFab rowhomes, fake shrubbery, white picket fences

all right next to the glorious harbour industrial park.

mmm mmm.

I was going to rent a place at Tindeco Warf overlooking the Canton waterfront for $1450/month. I got a bigger place next to the Yard for $890 including parking. Indeed, Canton is yup, but Good Love is still the money I think.

You're talking about Canton, China, right?

I'm kinda lost here... is the idea of this thread to list names/places/etc that we remember distinctly or are otherwise important to us?

We might as well be

("Balmer" is the Baltimorean way of saying "Baltimore" and "Hon" is what women over 37 call everyone else in "Balmer". For more on Balmer culture, see: John Waters' "Pecker".)

Really, John Waters is a good thing for Baltimore

annnnnnd, he is the subject for the pictures in the CP FreeWill Astrology.

gee Max, I'm tempted to send you some local stuff when we do the mixtapeclub. It's never too good to be too far away from your home, yaknow.

Anyway, the whole city is in a stink over the new police comissioner. OH NO. We hired a New Yorker to keep order with those who watch the city streets.

honestly.

That and I was harassed for loitering down in Ellicott City.

So much for the public park. Screw that I'm going to Sorrentos and getting some overpriced coffee.

That's quite a chip on Baltimore's shoulder about New York, huh? Is the chief an O'Malley appointee? I thought that guy could do no wrong...

Has Ellicott recovered from that fire? I'd guess so, it was a little while back, maybe 2 years or so? My Mom used to have a store down there next to the crystal shop. Oh man I'm even homesick for Ellicott City! Ha.

Apparently he can. I have dreams that he will be seen swinging from a tree by the end of the week...at the latest. O'Malley and Norris (who used to be buddies extrodinare) haven't "talked to each other in quite a while"

awww, are the little boys having a fight?

Make them stand in a corner till they work out their differences.

Lets see, Ellicott City recovered from the fire, flood, fire, flood, flood. It's not as good as it used to be, although unlike Annapolis (even considering it's the capital, it's turned into yuppie central and souvinere-tshirt headquarters) it hasn't lost it's heartwarming dirtyness.

If I spend anymore time down in Tiber Park, they are going to plant me along with all the other foliage.

which crystal shop? The Crystal Underground or Discoveries?

hmmm, since you probably were down there alot, do you remember artist-Bill? the local seventh-day adventist artist in residence?

I know for sure you can't be talking about Canton, Ohio. Ohio's Canton doesn't have any waterfront. There are other Cantons in the US, but I don't know where they are off of the top of my head.

There are a lot of places in the US without a harbor

I'm heading down to Balltown tonight, in fact. My ex-band is playing at the Vault and I figured after all this reminiscing, I should check out their new line-up. Gonna hit the Grind and Soundgarden on the way, and maybe hit Palomas afterwards

Hooray for Balmer!
