My son's a vegetarian; so in our house, breakfast and dinner are vegetarian meals (we all go our own way for lunch). I can't believe some of the dumb stuff I'm hearing already!<br><br>
I wrote a humor piece about this, and someone told me that I should have included the fact that omnivores think it's hy-larious to ask vegetarians if they eat animal crackers. Is this true? I want this to be a fluke.<br><br>
A friend of mine is a vegan who also has to live milk- and gluten-free. (I say "has to" because the vegan part is her idea, and her children have violent dairy and gluten allergies.) She says that her father once told her she "could have" a piece of pepperoni pizza! "Um, sure, Dad. Other than the pepperoni, the cheese, and the crust, that'd be great!" Wow.<br><br>
My son is very happy and healthy, and I couldn't be prouder of him for making an ethical decision so young and sticking to it (he went vegetarian when he was four and is now fourteen). But it amazes me how much silliness is going to come his way.

Without even reading the first post (though I did read it) the answer is a resounding YES.

Oh, I know they can be *pretty* dumb:<br><br><a href="http://www.bitternotes.com/2012/01/07/the-bitter-vegetarians-wish-list/" target="_blank">http://www.bitternotes.com/2012/01/0...ans-wish-list/</a><br><br>
...but the animal crackers on top of the pepperoni pizza is so dumb it hurts.

Mainly the animal crackers thing is just a joke. Well, a really unfunny joke that went bad after the first 30,000 times it was said.

I'm loving this as a comeback to,'So you don't eat animal crackers?'

I am sorry but we have a big thing of animal crackers here that we picked up at target before we head back home to our house from my parents in another state, the tub they are in is of shape of a bear, I take a few handfuls of precious animal crackers and I dunk them into a bath of organic yogurt each morning or a snack nothing wrong with this .

"Please dont insult my choice by saying, Its just a phase or Youll grow out of it, unless you dont mind my using the same phrase about your current religion, profession, or spouse."<br><br>
I had a customer tell me that. I was very offended, I said right back "No, it's not." It was a little awkward after that. Rude doesn't even begin to describe it.

Someone once told me that the brownies she made were vegan because the box said "just add water." She didn't think to look at any other ingredients!

I'm glad you like the list! And if anyone comes at you with the "It's just a phase" line again, maybe you can come back with, "I guess if you think *life* is a phase, yes."

Nothing wrong with animal crackers! The yogurt bath sounds great.
