OK I get soooooo tired of omnis who know I'm veggie and think it's so funny to eat their meat in front of me and say things like"oh these ribs are soooooo good. or Man this chicken is soo yummy" Like that's going to make me say "ya know what you're right, screw saving the animals give me a wing!" I'm just here to vent I mean it's like a daily occurence even in my family(my mom's house). Normally I just ignore them or say the same things about my veggies, but it mostly makes me sick to my stomach. So I just roll my eyes and walk away.. Thanks for listening!

I always offer something I'm eating. It irritates the crap out of a "meat a tarian" when I answer thier question with a question. :laughs:

Meaty: Mmmmm these hotwings are soooo good! Too bad you can't have them.

Me: Would you like a bite of my veggie sammich?

Meaty:

Me: Ok, I don't want your wings, you don't want my sandwhich. Deal.

Usually this shuts up the offending meat eater.

Heh, my grandma just made spare ribs the other day. She said "Lo, you've got to have at least one!" As if one was any different than 50...

Ah. I still get that from one of my "friends", along with many other people. I still get bugged by it, but at least all omnis aren't like that, thankfully.

My "friends" are always offering me meat to piss me off, knocking my beliefs, making fun of the suffering on factory farms to piss me off. I just get more and more cynical and angry with each passing day. I really need to find some new friends.

One of my friends has been telling me he wants to become vegetarian though, or at least cut down on meat. That encourages me a little.

yeah, my mum & sister used to do that. But they take me seriously now, since they know it's not just a fad, and don't make the crappy jokes.

Argh my I had my first argument with my Dad last night about being veg*n. My family had roast lamb last night - and that was the one meat I actually liked. So I said absent mindedly "geeze it still smells good <mmmm rosemary and herbs>, poor little lamb." An my Dad went off his rocker about "that's what they are bred for, they don't have any other purpose...they're stupid anyway"

I argued for a while then sighed and started cooking my garlic and marg lentils.

Omnis offering me meat never gets to me.. I just casually deny it and throw in something about not adding to the cruelty in this world.

What bugs me is them picking on what I am eating. "What's that?" "Hummus." "It looks like ground poo. Why can't you eat normal food?"

Yea.. Dead flesh is a lot more normal, and less gross than ground chickpeas.

Haha, thats a good one charity.

Sometimes I enjoy it when omnis looks at my food and come up with crazy ass notions about it. 'are you going to eat that?' 'yep'. Then I just smile and eat away.

Meat eaters used to bug me when they did that, now I've learned to deal with. It just doesn't bother me any more.

I've had family offer me meat saying 'it's soy chicken.' 'It's soy cheese.' They think it's funny and it really doesn't bother me. To them it's all about 'falling off the wagon.' But I feel like I'm just walking my path and there's no wagon to fall off of.

They do though, secretly hope you'll crack.

Its weird isn't it. Same thing happens with smokers I've realised. My sister is trying to quit because she figured if my Dad, who'd been smoking since he was 15 (40 yrs!) She could do it too. And her friends do nothing but give her **** about it.

Hummus DOES look like ground poo, though. It reminds me of the stuff that comes out of newborns....

I get this a bit, not often though and it really doesn't bother me. I just don't get why they do it. I mean.. if we wanted to eat meat, wouldn't we just be omni's?

i don't usually get this--not even from family. i never did.

i guess the only family member that i get it from is my father in law. It's not because he's cruel or joking with me, i think he forgets somehow that i'm vegetarian. He's a bit of a space cadet anyway, so i wouldn't be surprised if it's just forgetfulness.

usually, in his mind, he's just passing the plate around the table "here you go, pass this along" and offers me the plate first because i'm the person on his left. he sayst he same line with the salad, the potatoes, etc. "looks nice, doesn't it?"

So, i think he's just spaced out about my vegetarianism. He's polite about it though. he's just not thinking.

otherwise, i guess i hang around with more mature people than you all. lol

oh, and you know what bothers me? the vomiting smiley. I find that more disgusting than meat for some reason.
