Nope..I purchased the 1st one for my step daughter without seeing it first because it looked like a movie I would really get into based on the previews. But,we couldn't even get through the first half hour. I didn't really like it...I'm in the minority though. The visuals were awesome, but I couldn't stay interested in the story line.

I saw it Friday night, and it's awesome. They made Eowyn really kick-ass, but they made the Ents really apathetic and not as wise as they seemed in the book. Aragorn and Legolas were just too hot...

I cried 3 times during the film. It was so good. <3

I'm halfway through the second book, trying to finish up in time for the movie. I was hoping to see the Ents in movie form. I'm curious.

Finally get to go see TTT tomorrow! Yay!

I'm a huge fan of the books. I was a little worried with FoTR, because I heard all of these rumours about Arwen. I still think she got way too much screen time, but it wasn't as bad as I thought.

I have more confidence in Peter Jackson (the director) now. Really excited to see Gollum, my favourite character!

The movie totally played up Arwen's character, because they wanted a strong female for the first film. I think it's funny how pimpin' they make Aragorn look in TTT.

i saw it christmas eve. i really enjoyed it, though there are a lot of parts that aren't accurate. some things happen in the wrong order, etc, and who shows up at the battle doesn't show up in the book.

i didn't like all the emphasis on Arwen, she's all over the previews and posters and is only in the movie for like 5 minutes, mostly flashbacks. bah.

i thought the ents were well done but yeah they could've made them seem more wise like in the book. and gollum was pretty well done

you can't go in expecting it to be exactly like the book or you won't enjoy it, my brother didn't seem to like it much cause he's read the books like 4 times

Yeah, I am trying to keep an open mind. I mean it is hard to translate any book to a movie, let alone three of epic proportion.

I've read the books at least once a year since I was 16. I'm a geek, I know!

I think it was well worth seeing. Some of the modified character development irritated me but its a movie, not a book, the have to adapt or the result won't be worth ****.

I saw it, and I liked it. But not as much as I liked FoTR.

Gollum was great! I could still tell it was CGI, but it was the best I've ever seen. Liked how they gave him blue eyes, just like Frodo.

I didn't like Sean Astin's Sam in FoTR, but he really impressed me in TTT. And I love Merry and Pippin, too cute! Only problem was, they weren't in it enough! The ents were awesome.

I didn't like all the stuff they added in, like the warg battle and Aragorn's "death", and I certainly didn't like that Faramir took Frodo and Sam to Osgiliath. I was okay with scene deletion and scene modification, those are understandable, but adding in these extra scenes just didn't seem to make sense.

I really liked that Arwen was hardly in it! I like book Arwen, but Liv Tyler's Arwen reminds me of a phone sex girl.

In all, a good movie. My inner book purist is a little peeved with the changes, but I can live with them. I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars (FoTR - 5 out of 5).

Okay, and what was with that whole Theoden is possessed by Saruman scene? I kept waiting for Gandalf to yell "The power of Christ compels you!!!"

It seems to me that they made a lot of the plot points REALLY obvious. Like instead of just the subtle spell Saruman has over Theoden in the book, they do the Exorcist thing. Instead of a few lines that hint that Grima is after Eowyn, they practically bang it over your head. I suppose this was to make it more understandable for people who hadn't read the book, but it annoyed me. I am so picky!

I'm a big Silmarillion nerd, but I'm still able to accept most of the changes in the movie. The main thing I wish there was more emphasis on is the relationship between Saruman and Sauron. In the movie, Saruman just seems to come off as a flunky of Sauron, but in the book, he's planning on taking the ruling ring for himself.

The beefed up womens' parts are fine. The original story was a huge schlong-fest, so splicing some of the implied backstories into the film helps balance it out.

I agree with SilverC almost completely, though i didnt dig gollum as much, and i didnt like some of his dual identity scenes, it seemed to be a cheap gimic, they could have done it much more subtly and better, instead of the camera a foot away from his face and switching angles to show he is two different personalities battling it out.

i didnt think Aragorn was as hot in this one, nor Legolas, they just seemed to be lacking in something that was there in the first one.

I thought this was 10 times better than the first one but I'm not a fanboy or anything so that could be why. I thought there was a lot more action, the special effects were considerably better, and there were some dramatic moments that I thought were really lacking in the first movie.

I thought that little creature was pretty cool although in a couple of scenes he came dangerously close to Jar-Jar territory.

I have never seen the second Lord of the Rings. i just saw the first one today with my two friends. I never got to see the end of it though. I thought the guy elf with the long blonde hair was hot but I think he needed to cut his hair lol.

Mmmmmmm. Viggo Mortensen. Saw him being interviewed in Spanish, cause that's the kind of trilingual genius he is (English, Spanish, Elvish...) . Grrrrr. I'd definitely not kick HIM out of bed for eating crackers.

And with any luck, Legolas would be hanging out in bed too. Yummy elf goodness. Though Orlando Bloom is less eerily sexy in RL pics than as a blonde elf, I find...

Regardless, I would like to be the filling in a Stryder/Legolas sandwich. (And I think they were by FAR sexier in this flick).

I actually liked TTT better than the first one, overall. Perhaps because by now I am used to the fake English accents from Elijah and Sean Astin. And Sean Astin himself, for that matter. I still remember him as "Mikie" from the Goonies. Freaks me out a bit!

My BF thought the violence was a bit too extended towards the end. That was his main complaint.

Eh. He said the same thing about Harry Potter.
