You can find a list of vegetarian restaurants in Lisbon here:
http://www.centrovegetariano.org/Res...es-Lisboa.html (it's in portuguese, so it may not be a great help but it's the most complete list)

Here you have infos in english:
http://www.happycow.net/europe/portugal/lisbon/
http://www.vegdining.com/GetRestList.cfm?rgk=EU-POR

Lisbon and Oporto have a decent offer of vegetarian and vegan restaurants But to be honest, in general, it isn't a very veg*n friendly country.
If the Portugese restaurants arent working out for you, look for itallian restaurants instead. Nearly everywhere has them, and I've never been to one that didnt have at least something veggie on the menue.

Also,(perhaps stating the obvious) if you don't speak portugese, make sure you take a good enough dictionary/phrasebook to properly read a menu so you are capable of checking for yourself what you can eat.

Thank you for your helpful reply. We are taking a vegetarian spread and some cheeses.I don't think the cheese there is supposed to be very tasty.

Portuguese Cheese is in fact delicious-as is the wine.

Also if you're eating Italian you can be sure the Cheese on anything is from Portugal-why would it not be?
