I saw this sad ad at my vet from a woman who needs to give away her cat, it said that she will euthanize it if she can't find a place for it by the end of the month. I sent her information on Toronto Cat Rescue, because they help with adoptions. she replied that she already contacted them but it is not working out, she also tried Annex, at this time they can't help

Does anyone here know anyone who is thinking about having a cat? or any other adoption options we have in here?

my roommate is allergic and we have 2 cats, she can't handle the 3rd one. we tried it once she couldn't get out of her room. when she heard of this she said she would be ok with the cat living with us for maximum 2 weeks

Have you talked to Toronto Cat Rescue yourself, or to any other rescue group? I ask because sometimes people will get upset at a rescue's requirements and refuse to deal with them. I'm not saying that's the situation in this woman's case, but I would be inclined to check with the rescues myself. If it turns out that it's just some kind of personality conflict, you could take the cat and then pass it on to the rescue. Just a thought.

I live nowhere near this lady but I hope it turns out well for the kitty.

I was thinking the same, re contacting them directly, only because they are so awesome, and because I've noticed when people are really stressed they might not even "hear" correctly. I see this alot in my work when my clients are super stressed and will repeat back to me what they think I said, and they say the opposite.

Also Annex Cat Rescue might know of other "adoption" or "foster care" for animals.

Maybe in the meantime, also, is it possible to help her post some fliers inside veggie food stores and veggie restaurants, say along Bloor, Carrot Common, at vets offices?

Sorry, I'm allergic.

TCR is actually dealing with her. they just aren't being successful

Annex, I do think that they are overfilled. I tried them a few months back when a cat followed me on the street and it was the same situation (luckily my boyfriend ended up adopting it). but i will do call them to just see if they know other options

and also suggest vegetarian food places

those re good ideas, thanks!
