Just curious if anyone here has or plays any computer video games. I generally have little to no time to enjoy such things, although lately I've had a bit of a slowdown/break which is giving a little more free time.

Someone gave me a couple of video games as presents, telling me they "rocked". One is called Unreal Tournament and the other is called Grand Theft Auto. Both are pretty violent, with UT being pretty graphic and GTA having a lot of stereotypes in it. But I can see how folks can become addicted to playing these things.

I find myself enjoying them quite a bit

I don't even check out those games precisely because I don't want to get addicted. Besides, my addiction to VB keeps me plenty busy.

WarCraft III, yeah, that one's good too. The graphics in that are pretty good, much better detail than the previous versions. I have a friend who's been addicted to all versions of the WarCraft series... to the point he actually called in sick to work a few times cause he was, and I quote, "in the zone". lol

heh yeah my bf and our roommate have been playing these types of games for quite some time. we have 2 computers networked together here now so they can play against each other or allied together. sometimes they'll play for hours and i can't get near a computer to feed my VB addiction, so i decided to learn how to play the game so i can weasle in some comp time

it's addictive. first few nights i dreamed about it.

also i may try creating my own custom maps. i like the building aspect the most in these types of games so why not. an online buddy of mine sent me a custom map he made and keeps emailing me strategy tips and whatnot. fun stuff.

we also have a playstation 1 and 2 and nintendo 64, there is no lack of games in this house. i tried to get into gran turismo 3 but i started with a crappy car and got fed up with the whole game.

My b/f is way into pc games. He usually plays Half-Life/Counterstrike and is in a clan. We plan the Nascar Racing together..love that one. And once in awhile he'll play Unreal Tournament, Age of Empires, and Command & Conquer. I like You Don't Know Jack myself. But mostly I play on Pogo or Sony.com

I played it a lot during summer, it is addicting.

Other stuff I've played religiously: Morrowind, Heroes of Might and Magic, Diablo 2, Starcraft, and of course the old skool warcrafts (1 & 2).

I used to play Ragnarok Online during the free beta, but now that I'm back on dialup, I don't think it would work very well. ^^;;

I have a Gamecube, and I play Animal Crossing. I am sooo addicted. ^^;;

And there's this game called Burnout 2 that is coming out for the Gamecube sometime this year (although I tried it on the PS2 while I was visiting relatives at Thanksgiving), and it has a Crash Mode that is so much fun! It's great stress relief. ^^;;

Aside from that, I'm not much of a gamer, though. ^^;;

is animal crossing worth the money? it looks cute but it seems like something we'd get tired of quickly

I'm more of a PS2 gamer than a PC gamer, although I used to be an Everquest addict. I play Black&White a lot, and occassionally UT2k3.

My soul mate is the PS2, though. I'm obsessed with Suikoden 3 right now, and I played Star Wars Bounty Hunter until my hands fell off.

And then there's DDR...

Of course, I did buy mine used, but that's because I refuse to pay full price for anything, if I can avoid it. ^^;;

It seems simple at first, but once you get into the game, you absolutely feel like you need to play every day. There are events planned for the next thirty years, and because it happens in real time, you get to experience all sorts of cute holiday celebrations and special days.

I could just go on and on about how much I love this game. ^^;;

I think the funniest thing, though, is that even my mom is hooked on it. It started with my younger sister, who demanded to play every time she visited me. Then, mom called to ask me about it as a potential Christmas gift for that same sister. A week later, mom was hooked. It's so cute. ^^;;

Anybody know where to find the computer game Gold Digger? I had it when I was 14 but then my parents made me delete it because they thought it promoted greed. I could have it back now, if I wanted, but I don't know where to find it. Hopefully there are updated versions or my computer won't explode from running an ancient program.

I have 5 (no joke, five) friends who work at EBGames, and they hook me up with good deals on used games. Ssshhhh, though, they're not supposed to do that. ^_^;;;
