I was goig to post this in the recipes section but I think I'd get better results in the vegan specific section. I've made veganaise before but it tasted kind of weird and oilly. Though I could just not remember what veganaise tastes like so maybe that's why; but I keep hearing that it depends on how you put the oil and lemon juice in and how fast you put it in. Has anyone made veganaise before and do you have a recipe for veganaise made with vegetable oil? Also do you have tips on the process for making it, how fast to pour the oil in, what setting to blend it in the food processor, etc.? Thanks!

The first time I made it was with canola oil, and sweetened soymilk! It was wonderful for waldorf salad-chopped apples, grapes, celery, pineapple and walnuts.
The second time I tried it with olive oil-yech!
Then I tried Veganaise with grapeseed oil-best stuff ever!
Then I bought Trader Joes fat free mayo-ehh, needs help, typical fat free taste of thickeners.
I just used it up on potato salad, and lucky me, my nfs has veganaisee 25% off!
So I can't help too much, other than use a mild oil (like canola), a high speed blender, drizzle the oil in the milk, add lemon juice to taste and thicken. And use plain soymilk unless you want it for fruit salad!
Pretty sure I got it from vegweb.com
This isn't it, but looks similar:
http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=39567.0

^Yes! I just said canola because that's what I usually have. Veg. oil, sunflower...any that have a neutral flavor and aren't heavy.

Great, thank you! I think I'm going to try to make some again today and make a chickpea salad sandwich. I keep hearing about those and I used to love tuna sandwiches as an omni so I need a good substitution.
