(a baby, that is)

Getting closer to d-day here. Losing sight of my toes occasionally, waking up to this little alien inside doing somersaults.

Just wondering if I'm the only one? :p

I am not expecting thank goodness (my babies are 20 and 18) but I wanted to say that I read and enjoy your posts and I have the feeling you are going to be a great Mum .

Aw, thank you! Always good to have a vote of confidence, especially in these last couple of hormone-frenzied months.

Mine are fourteen and I am trying to figure out where to affix the "Return to Sender" label.

Hahahaha. No, just kidding.

This is the best life has to offer and I wish you all the joy. Your child is already very fortunate to have such a compassionate mother...

Now welcome to motherhood!

The best card I got upon becoming a mom read, "Welcome to motherhood the most fulfilling, lonely, wonderful, miserable, joyful, difficult, fun, irritating, energizing, exhausting, peaceful, combative, playful, work-filled experience of your life!

I wish you every other one .

I'm not a mother, and probably won't be for another 10 years at least, but good luck with everything Jen!

(Do we get pictures after the baby is born? )

My girlfriend, who lives in Montreal, is due in less than three months. Getting huge, and we're anxious to get on with the tickling and all that fun stuff.

Now I'm just wishing my Canadian residency and work permit would hurry up so I'm not having to drive across the border every day for work when it comes Still have a couple more years in the Army Guard though, and I'd be perfectly happy spending it all on monthly drill status. Done my part, I'm anxious to do the family thing, preferably not while living in and/or deployed to a different country than the family.

I was recently pregnant- my kids and 2 and 1
I remember vividly the end part!! I feel for you- but enjoy this part of pregnancy- its such a beautiful thing to be growing a baby. I'll take the uncomfortable factor to do it again- its just so awesome to me.

When are you due? What are you having?

Eeep! I love pregnancy and babies! I'm staring at you with a creepy crazy person smile on my face right now.....

*giggles* at MollyCakes. I've spent most of my adult life/career working with children, so I can understand the excitement factor.

I'm enjoying my time with the swimming bean (it's a girl, and she likes flips apparently), but I think by the EDD on 5th of November, I'll be ready for her to be on the outside. I tore a muscle this past week and it hurt like holy hell. Plenty of annoying stuff like insane hay fever and some backaches now, but compared to what lots of women go through, I feel really pretty lucky. Only yesterday did I have the first movement/kick that was painful, usually just sorta weird/slightly uncomfortable.

nomad..how exciting! Are you not able to stay with her in Canada? That must be tough missing the day to day stuff. Oh, maybe you mean that you have to drive across because you're not allowed to work in Canada yet? (sometimes I'm a bit slow ) Glad to see one other VBer awaiting a baby. We usually have a couple of them floating around, but it's been pretty quiet lately.

kasandra, I hope things are going well for you and that you and the man are having fun in the meantime . I've just found out this week that two acquaintances are pregnant, so the baby vibes must be in the air!

<<goes to look in the kitchen for something to eat

Can't work in Canada yet. I'm just working temporarily in Plattsburgh, NY, which is about an hour from Montreal. So I can't technically live there yet, but whenever I'm not working I'm visiting. Just an annoyance really, could be worse. And I'll probably have my work permit by winter, at which point I'll move to Canada permanently.

Well, shucks. I shoulda started this thread sooner. Thanks all!

Today's baby fun = one of my nanny girls laughing hysterically upon seeing what my maternity pants looked like (big stretchy spandex kinda stuff over the belly).
