I wonder if it's a "growing up in the Midwest" thing, but I love that rumble and the sound of rain just coming down in buckets. We had one here last night for the first time in ages (like over a year probably) and I laid awake about 2:30 in the morning just listening and later it sort of lulled me to sleep. The man just giggled at me saying that it was a comforting sound, but it absolutely is. I think I need to get one of those "sounds of thunder" cd's.

Oh...I especially loved them when I lived in Oklahoma. I lived in a block of apartments that was sort of like an old style motel. One of my friends lived in this spot where you could be under the roof, by the stairwell and look westward seeing the storms coming for miles and miles.

I love thunderstorms! The only time I don't like them is when I'm driving.

AAAHHHHHHH! Hate them!
I used to feel that way, when they were kinda rare, and the air outside would be sooo fresh, just before. All happy ions!
For the last month in Ohio, we've had more than our share. I've have many sleepless nights because of the thunder and lightning. Scary.

Oklahoma has the bestest thunderstorms! I totally miss that part! I love thunderstorms, when you can feel the raw energy of Nature swirling around you. The potential for danger, the dazzling display of lightning, the wind... there's nothing like it!

Oh I love them so much. I used to love summers on the Chesapeake Bay. You could watch the stoms (complete with lightning) coming right up the Bay. So cool...

Does anyone worry about lightning strikes, outages and power surges frying their electronics... especially hard drives?

I love thunderstorms. They're so dramatic. We hardly ever got them in Wales when I was gowing up as "rain" there is usually boring drizzle. We had one brew in Leicester a few weeks ago and the smell of the air before it started raining was wonderful. My neighbours thought I was mad for opening my bedroom window wide!

This is what we had last night Kjesta. It's not rained here for days and days, which is really strange for April/May in England. It's like Mother Earth just opened herself up and soaked up every last drop.

Yes, I love them! (If I don't have to go out, that is. ) We don't seem to get them out here in California but I'm sure there will be some when I go home for the summer.

They can be nice but sometimes scary. I live in lightning capitol of the US so I am used to it. The lightning can be quite beautiful sometimes.

I adore them, but my kids and one of our dogs are not fans. It detracts from my own enjoyment.

I like a good storm to feed the earth and to relax me, (plus it's good baby-making weather).

But.... if this storm includes a tornado watch or warning, or if I even hear the word "tornado" mentioned, it's a totally different story! I basically freak out and hide in the closet or bathtub with my hard hat on all night long, posting crazy facebook updates to annoy my friends and family.

That's weird. I've always found tornadoes to be the perfect baby making climate. that, and of course earthquakes.
