I'm trying to reduce my cholesterol. I'm fighting huge genetic factors as my mum and BOTH maternal grandparents had very high cholesterol. My consultant says I won't be able to reduce it to healthy levels with diet alone, but I can get it down a bit so it's worth taking Benecol or something similar. Probably a long shot but are there any cholesterol reducing products that are vegan?

Oooh fantastic, I didn't know Benecol did that.<br><br><br><br>
I think there's cholesterol reducing butter, cereal and lord knows what else out there! My consultant only really mentioned the drinks.

I got the dairy free Benecol. It tastes pretty awful but thankfully I can drink it in one gulp, so with a little shudder it's over <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/rockon.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="">

isn't Alpro soya yoghurt (and other soya milks) good for reducing cholesterol? Just thought I had seen something on the packaging.

I think so, but I can't stand the Alpro-Soy yoghurts <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/sad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":("><br><br>
I drink rice milk and use Pure butter but I'm not a fan of soy milk. Except the AlproSoy cream substitute which tastes just like ordinary cream.

Oats are supposedly good for your cholesterol. Eat more oatmeal---or drink oatmilk. Oatly is *lovely* and comes in chocolate.
