I've just gone vegan, however at the moment my cooking options are extremely limited. The house I live in is being renovated, so all I have to work with right now is a microwave, and things such as salads and sandwiches are options as well. Any ideas? I'm a busy student, so bonus points for speed, as well as cheapness.

Amy's has several canned soups that can go right in the microwave. Even tofu noodle! It's so nostalgic. They're a bit expensive for canned soups, but not ridiculously so.

http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=6804.0 Microwave brownies, these are FANTASTIC--don't use olive oil though.

I eat a lot of vegetables steamed in the microwave--broccoli, cauliflower, and corn do really well in the ol microwave, but greenbeans and peas really need to be simmered.

Vegetarian refried beans + microwave; insert into tortilla. Burrito!

You can also bake a potato in the microwave. That's how I grew up eating them anyway.

http://www.wikihow.com/Cook-Rice-in-a-Microwave Here's instructions for cooking rice in the microwave.
