I know it's hard to imagine for some, but with summer being right around the corner, I *love* to cook in my crockpot when it's really too hot to start up the oven or to stand over the stove.

I've looked online and found a few really yummy sounding crockpot recipes, but am wondering if anyone has some really delicious tried and true crockpot recipes that you or your family really loves? I would love some good "stick to your ribs" type of dishes, while I really appreciate the occasional soup with a nice salad, I would like something a bit heartier as well.

Any and all recipes are appreciated!!!

Thanks so much!

I've been using Fresh From the Vegetarian Slow Cooker a lot lately. It has some really good recipes!
Yep, I'm right there with ya'!

It's easier and just like you said when it's sooo hot outside during the summer, who wants to turn on the stove or oven?

My family likes cold salads & sandwiches, and there's even the option of grilling, but I mean sometimes I just want something quick & easy, something that I don't have to stand over while it's cooking.

I've checked that cookbook out from my library before, but don't remember any recipes that really just stood out to me, but maybe I need to go check it out again and take another look!

Thanks for your suggestion!

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone that has posted in this thread!

I appreciate you all taking the time to post your ideas!

I guess I should have been a bit clearer on the kinds of recipes I was looking for.

I do have quit a few bean recipes and I have a couple of soup-type recipes, but I really would like something that maybe isn't so "soup" like, hope that makes sense?

I even have a cuban black bean recipe that I copied here from VB that is THE best black bean recipe that I've tried in my crockpot.

If you like black beans you HAVE to try them, this is the only way my 12 yr. old daughter will eat "homemade" beans!

I've wondered it it would be possible to do some type of tofu style dish in the crockpot, does anyone here have any experiences?

I'm curious to know if it just kind of falls apart.

Thanks again everyone who has posted and hopefully we'll get a few more responses for us crockpotters out there!
