It's annoying poll time. I've decided to make a poll to test everyone's attitudes out. I did this one at vegweb, and I thought I'd see what happens when i add a few canadians to the poll, eh?

Anyhow, here's what everything means:

Tasty: You enjoy meat. You eat it regularly, and you love it. (Quite obviously an omnivore!)

Tempting: You are trying not to eat meat, but you still crave it.

Not a problem: You're veg*n, and you don't have a problem with meat at all. As long as you're not eating it.

Repulsive: You're veg*n, and the thought of meat sickens you

Murder: This is kinda obvious!!!

I'm a near-obsessive Morrissey/Smiths fan - what d'ya think my answer's going to be?

Yay -- another Smiths fan.

Despite that, my answer was "Not a Problem" though I would like to revise it add "so long as I'm not cooking it" to the "so long as I'm not eating it" definition. I guess that would make me borderline on the repulsive -- but I'm not quite there yet. It's certainly not tempting or tasty at ALL.

I picked repulsive after how I felt the other night... before that it would have been not a problem but the body doesn't lie!

I wanted to answer both "repulsive" and "murder", but "repulsive" won.

I have never in my entire life liked meat. It has always kind of grossed me out, along with eggs, my entire life. Even as a young child. Now, I find it absolutely disgusting and not the least bit tempting.

I picked "repulsive" myself. I don't mind othe rpeople eating it, but to be honest, I really do not like meat, and having an omni family who use lard a lot adds to it.

But feel free to interpret the five selections any way you see fit. It's basically in order of intensity, with tasty being one extreme and murder being the other. So it's kinda like where you fit on the spectrum.

Anywya, I justt hought this would be an interesting one to have.

Now Loki, what do you mean by add a few canadians?

ETA: I guess I should say that I find it repulsive. Especially when I had to watch four people eat large amounts of animals tonight.

Hey Loki I picked repulsive.

I don't like to watch it being cooked or smelling it being cooked, but as long as I am not eating it, it is okay.

Honestly, I remember exactly how meat tastes (even after 2 years without it), and it's "tempting" so long as I don't use my brain. But the minute I think about where that meat comes from, it's "repulsive."

That's being human for you: having to reconcile "instinctive" behavior with whatever it is that we aspire to be as "higher" animals.

Sadly, for a while I was one of those "fake vegetarians" who ate fish, based upon the fact that I used to go fishing with my grandfather (age 9 or so) and I had killed fish.

My bottom-line veg*n position remains: "If I kill it, then I can eat it." Since I definitely can't kill it -- not fish either now -- then I won't eat it.

And I can totally live with that, both spiritually and physically.

I put not a problem.

I have never liked it so I don't feel tempted. And only sometimes it seems really repulsive. Most of the time it's just gross. The other day I was at school and for some reason the smell of someone making bacon was wafting around. I thought that was repulsive.

I put tempting. I always had bad feelings after I ate it, but I still craze meat sometimes. And the funny thing is that it is meat that I did not eat all of the time as an omni like sausage and hotdogs.
