I go through these phases where I am forced to take huge B vitamin doses twice a day. Like I am right now ( though I am almost over it at the momment), because apparently I have metabolism issues* with B vitamins. I already take B vitamins on a regular basis in normal doses so it's not like I'm deprived of them. I don't know or never heard of anyone else who suffers from this problem ( though I 'm told one of my great grandparents had it)

I have tried to get B vitamin injections and they refused to give them to me because my blood tests show I have normal levels. Of course for someone with special needs, a normal level is meaningless.

I have things like B 12 levels checked on a regular basis and they always come back normal.

* I cannot seperate this from the bleeding disorder which is either the cause or aggrevates B vitamin metabolism issues.

I've read your post a couple of times and still don't see the problem. Please enlighten me!

I dont really understand either. Why are you forced to take large doses of B vitamins? If you normally take them and your levels are fine....? What are these metabolism issues and what does B vitamins have to do with it? *sorry if Im missing something obvious*

Ditto. Can you offer some more detail on the "metabolism" issues? Was this something diagnosed by a doctor?

Because the condition does not respond to anything else but high B vitamins doses.

Seems like the only way to manage this metabolism issue is to have extra doses of B vitamins at least twice a day if not more. I feel like I'm n medication. I miss a day or two and I'm on the way to metabolism problems again.

Causes nausua if I don't have a large meal at the same time. Not always possibleon the stuff face and run days. Plus the medication is expensive and medicaid doesn't cover this kind of homepathic treatment.

Symptoms of B metabolism issues include lack of motivation, felling "zombie like", loss of color/ extreme paleness, increased sleep to about 16-18 hrs a day, an overall coldness which requires hot bath and being wrapped up in blankets.

I would there was a medication would reduce my B vitamins requirments down to normal levels.

I am the only person I know of that needs such huge B vitamins doses to prevent a strange illness . At least this is the lesser evil because it responds to medication.

Except your doctors are saying you're fine. Of course insurance won't cover it, you're self medicating. What is this thread about? Are you asking questions or just venting?

I wanted to see if anyone else suffered from B metabolism problems and see what they did to manage it, that's all.

Why don't you explain to us, without links, what you see as a B-metabolism problem. Then, explain why you think you have it.

Because I seem to require like 10 * the normal amount of a B vitamins as a normal person.

Nobody else in my family or anything I've ever known will get sick if they do not regularly take extra B vitamins.

Okay...Stop looking at the shiny things.

WHO says you REQUIRE extra B? WHY are you taking extra B if the DOCTOR says you are FINE?

My body by reacting. I was really happy when I finally found something that this responded too because I used to lose lots more time. Sometimes my mouth would get all raw and bloody and I couldn't eat much anymore.

I used to take just the normal doses of B 12 but that just wasn't enough.

This may surprise amd amaze you but YES some people have issues that require special diets, extra vitamins etc.

I think I know what the OP is trying to say...

Her level of energy is so low that she feels extremely tired and lethargic and through her own experimentation has found the only thing that helps is taking mega doses of B vitamins. If she misses a dose her energy level drops. Additionally, if she doesn't take the mega doses with food she feels nauseous.

Her doctor won't give her injections because tests show that her B levels are normal. She's hoping someone else who's experienced this can offer insight.

Did I get it right? What do I win?

If you really want to find out about your condition, first ascertain that you "metabolize" B-vitamins (or loose them) quicker than other people. Don't take B vitamins for a couple of days and have you vitamins B1, B2, B6, and B12 checked. And then lets look if the solution lies in megadoses of something else.

Don't have time for lie around with experiemtntation. Have three monthes of bills waiting to be paid, a portfolio waiting to be done and an appartment waiting to be cleaned with hints of if it isn't done, eviction may happen. If the portfolio doesn't pan out, I will have to prompty find another way to get an income. Combo of working hard and experiencing these issues tend to result in very messy appartment.

IF someone else who has metatbolism issues which like to experienment, by all means let us know how it goes.

So what is the point of your post? To vent? You're evading all of the respondents' questions, and Lothar, a doctor, just gave you some sound advice!

If you don't want answers, why bother asking for a discussion?

Lose the snarkiness. You're the one who is not making ANY damn sense and requiring all of us to ask you the same questions over and over and over.

I'm going to attempt one more time...

YES, some people require special diets and extra vitamins.
