Since I've managed to shift most of my house to vegan foods :)evil laugh: ) I've freed up some of the grocery budget and I'm trying to switch to animal friendly household products. My local grocery sells Sun and Earth (I think it's called) and one called Method. They said no animal testing on them. Anyone know of an animal friendly floor cleaner though? It didn't look as if either company made one.

I mean the stuff you'd mop tile with, just to clarify. I had to buy Lysol.

I'd love to know what to look for next time to keep it in mind though, if they even sell one..

Vinegar is an awesome cleaner! Especially for the bathroom. Removes hard water spots like a charm. Also makes for a great window/mirror cleaner.

Vinegar absolutely has never worked as a cleaner for me. I've tried it for more than a few different things and it's never cleaned well enough.

Troub, it's obvious you don't have kids and animals. Just teasing.

Between my dogs accidents when he's left alone, my kids dropping everything imaginable on the floor and my husband dragging mud and dirt in by the tons with his boots, I need something that really cleans well.

Maybe I'll check Target for the Method floor cleaner. They had some stuff there too....

i use white vinegar and water, generally, and if i need a bit more scrubbing power, i use bon ami powder or baking soda.

i have a rabbit, so it cleans runny poo and rabbit urine (the worst) better than anything else i've used. it even removes it from carpets!

but, it does require more 'elbow grease' when you have to get something really caked on off the floor. i use a scrub brush, bon ami, and then vinegar rinse.

I've found that Ecos brand floor cleaner is excellent, and it smells good too! They make all sorts of products, we use their toilet scrub and dish soap also.

I use something called Ecological Cream Scrub 'Ecover'. It's kinda like soft scrub. It's totally safe not only for your kids and animals, but also for all river and marine life. It's completely biodegradable and leaves no chemical residue.

And it works!
