Hello to all,
I would like to better understand how much animal cruelty exists.
I have a minimum idea, I watched these 3 videos
Farm to Fridge - The Truth Behind Meat Production
Earthlings Video

But I would like to know much more, like how much the animals of different species live in an industrial farm, how they are selected and killed, and so on.
I know that can differ a lot from one country to another, but even knowing how it works in a specific country is very good.

For example:
-- Chickens for food:
How long the chicken breed for meat live until they are killed?
Are the roosters also raised for meat? Or their meat has worse quality (taste)?
-- Chickens for eggs:
How long the chicken breed for eggs live until they are killed and how many eggs they lay on average?

-- Pigs:
How long they live until they are killed?
Is their skin used for any leather products?

... and so on.

First, I would like to know if this forum is the right place to ask such questions.
Also, I think it would be an interesting idea to create a small wiki dedicated to the subject. Or at least a complete "FAQ" and "Animal cruelty guide".
