I find it wonderful that he actually said it. Especially given that he's one of my favorite television personality and the only food network personality I can stomach(After the short haired health lady seemed to disappear from the network).

EDIT: I can't seem to go advanced to edit this. I really wanted to add a poll, asking if you guys thought that food network would ever add a fully veggie show. The closest they had ever gotten was with the aforementioned, disappeared health lady.

I liked Ellie Krieger, too.

Some years back they had an actual veggie show starring a nice fellow named Curtis. It was canceled. Later I saw him cooking some awful body parts on a non-veg show, and sporting many extra pounds.

I have several family members who need to see that clip. One of my pet peeves is watching people gobble their Lipitor but go on eating 3-4 eggs a day and meat at every meal. Ugh.

I'v heard about the Curtis guy and his veg Food Network show, but I never saw it. Does anyone know why it was canceled?

I used to LOVE the Food Network, and I actually still watch some shows. I would die of happiness if they did a veg cooking show. I think it would have the potential to reach a wide audience if the host and food were quality. There are a lot of veg*ns out there, as well as people looking to just cut back on their meat intake.

The other night on the great food truck race (title is something like that), one of the food trucks was all vegan cuisine! That was a pleasant surprise. They made some really beautiful food and talked briefly to the camera about the health benefits of a vegan diet.

Have you seen their programming schedule of the late? Filled to the brim with Close ups of douchy personalities stuffing the biggest, greasiest "food" item they can find into their crusty mouths while making disgusting O faces and moaning.

A veg show is out of place now as the station isn't even really about cooking anymore.

I'm surprised Alton is still there.
There is this site I go to, called Food Network Humor. They tear that station a new one.
