Hello everyone!

I posted awhile back in the General Health forum about how I had broken out in a terribly itchy rash all over my body a couple months ago. I figured out that it is due to the fact that I am allergic to the soap I was using. How did I figure this out? After not having the rash for about a month, I decided to use the soap again and see if it would cause problems. I took a bath with it Wednesday night, and Thursday morning, I was covered with itchy bumpiness.

The weird thing is, the soap I am allergic to is Kiss My Face's Olive Oil and Honey bar!!! I'm not sure what ingredient in it is causing such intense allergies in me, but it seems weird that something so natural could cause such a violent reaction. The ingredients are as follows: Saponified Olive Oil, Water, Sodium Chloride, Honey, Citric Acid, Fragrance.

My question is this: Does anyone have an idea as of what ingredient could cause this allergy? Or has anyone ever had a similar experience with KMF's Olive Oil soap or any vegan/natural soap?

Thanks in advance.

vegbunny83, I break out in a rash whenever I use an olive oil based soap. I am able to consume olive oil with no problem, but soap? Forget it. Huge rash, just like you described... including with Kiss My Face brand soap. It's happened with a few different kinds of olive oil soap.

I'd say stop using olive oil based soaps.

Crazy! I wonder what about olive oil soaps causes that? It just seems to make no sense to me. Maybe something bout the olive oil changes in the saponifying process?

Glad to know that someone had the same experience!!! Thanks!

I bought some of these when I was in Indianapolis and they're pretty nice. No olive oil! http://www.clearlynaturalsoaps.com/c...item=8768XXXXX
Yeah, I will be happy when this goes away... I swear, ONE bath with the stuff, and I've got itchy hives that will last a week! And they hurt, dangit.

Actually I do have some of the Clearly Natural soap, because they sell it at the Jewel-Osco near my house! I got it in Honeysuckle and it's really nice.

Yeah, I got one of those, I think it was the Grapefruit one... it was so good!! I had the Olive Oil one only because my roommate got it for me as a present. I recently bought some other soaps from KMF, I got their Bare Naked Sudz bar, which has no fragrance and is just pure glycerin, and their Close Encounter Sudz body wash, which I love! They are discontinuing both of those, which sucks. They have all kinds of fun stuff though.

Its the process they use with olive oil that doesnt make it just pure olive oil. I found this out from someone who worked in a factory to make these soaps.

Sorry it was a year ago and I dont remember much about it.
