Is this embarassing? I thought relatives supporting it would spend more than $30.

Wait, thick not-very-good-with economics question.
Does that mean it made $30 before they paid everyone back? (Ie only 2 people went to see it) . Or is the $30 after everyone got paid?

It means they grossed $30. They rented a theater and released it for one week so as to meet the screen actor guild requirement that it be released in the US before it is released in foreign markets 1st.

Well, it made over $350,000 in a year when it went to DVD. The limited release and low-profit was intentional. So no, not that embarrassing (although that's still a loss).

As there is always a highest grossing movie of all time, there has to be a lowest grossing movie of all time. It's interesting how they put it in a theater just so they could avoid it being labeled "straight to video" and to have foreign distribution rights.

The budget would be the cost to make the movie, correct? It made $368,000 in the first year and cost $1.3 million. It's made money since but since movies tend to bring in more money in their first year than other years you'd assume they made a lot less money in the following years. I don't see how that's not embarassing.

Well it does star Tom Sizemore. I think that explains a lot.

How does a movie actually "star" Tom Sizemore?

Oh yeah this film sounds like a real winner (from the OP's link)...

Quote:

Tom Sizemore and long-time friend Peter Walton, who worked as Sizemore's
assistant, were arrested during the film's production for repeatedly failing
drug tests while on probation. Police discovered that Walton had a warrant out
for his arrest for child pornography distribution and was subsequently jailed.
Sizemore was not jailed, however, making it possible for him to film his
scenes.
