Hi,

I have a question regarding cheese - looking more for information not speculation (I have plenty myself : )

If I were looking to eat the most "humane" cheese, would it be fair to say that goat cheese is the most humane? As far as I understand, there are not goat CAFOs and goats are pastured outside in (relatively) small flocks, and live the most 'natural' lives of all commercially cheese-producing animals. Is this true?

Any info appreciated. Thank you!

Well, I know goats cheese is the tastiest >.<

I would suggest going to local farms around your area and see for yourself. A lot of farmers are happy to show you around and let you know what they do. If you feel comfortable, buy it directly from them.

I was once told by the cheese counter dude at Whole Foods that, yes, for the reasons you listed, goat cheese is the most "humane."

For whatever that's worth.
