Sorry if this has been posted already, and it might be old news [it was posted a year ago] but maybe some of you haven't seen it until now [like me!].

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/katie-...2.html#s110096

7-Eleven has [accidentally] vegan food! Oh my God! I am flailing everywhere. I had no idea. This is too good to be true! YAY!

Has anyone ever had any of these snacks before? How are they??

Ha. I'm in the only US state where the 7-Elevens are independently owned. They aren't part of the normal franchise, so they aren't going to be carrying any of that. Hurray.

I am happy for everyone else though.

I worked for a 7/11 for almost a year, I will never spend my money there again no matter how much tasty vegan treats they get in. *shudder*

I've had the 7-11 thin mints, they aren't bad but they aren't as great as the Girl Scout ones.

I'm thinking I'm going to try making my own, Chef Chloe Coscarelli has an amazing looking recipe: http://chefchloe.com/sweets/vegan-thin-mints.html

I really appreciate the variety 7-11 has though, sometimes you really need a 24 hour store that has vegan options. It's nice knowing I can always get fruit and trail mix at least wherever I might be.

I went for a Slurpee today, saw most of the items on the list. They're pure junk

What a surprise. Like finding yourself all wet after being caught outside in a torrential downpour.

I almost bought them though I wanted the cherry pie. The ingredients list was scary, too much paired with the Slurpee.

Not sure how accurate this is: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...7194416AALB9K7

I don't know if that's true. I've read a few articles that say Slurpees are vegan, but then I came across this. No proof cited though and we don't know if the lubricant is vegan. (Kinda gross, but I don't know if it's accurate)

I wonder what ever happened with this:

Quote:

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has reported that select 7-Eleven stores in New York City are testing out vegan meals at six different locations in the city. 7-Eleven is the world’s largest convenience retail chain, and the vegan convenience meals will include eclectic offerings such as Pad Thai noodles, vegetable Lo Mein, Shanghai dumplings, artichoke spinach noodles, and Hunan dumplings.

I realize that 7-11 is a convienence store, ergo convient, but I really hope they don't do this. I've seen their hot dogs, and don't want any more food stuffs ruined by that.

Well I guarantee no store/restaurant will use vegan cleaning products as they are more expensive so in that sense nothing prepared outside of your own home isn't vegan.
