I was staying at a ski hut for 3 days with 30 people. On the last day they were tired and hungry and wanting dessert.... only by that stage we were lacking some key ingredients- like the eggs and the milk and the butter...

I performed the impossible and baked a delicious chocolate cake without using any of those ingredients, and everyone was very impressed.... this was after they had been interrogating me for 3 days about the inconveniences of being Vegan...

hopefully now I'll have put in a good word for us

People just don't understand anything can be made vegan - and its better cause with no eggs it means you can eat the dough =)

That's an awesome story!

And I know exactly how impressed those people must have been too, I remember when I first made vegan chocolate cake it BLEW MY MIND. It was so moist and fluffy and rich, made me wonder why I ever bothered to put animal products in my baking at all!

awesome! Everyone always asks me "how on earth do you make vegan cake". I guess people are so used to the idea that eggs+butter+flour+sugar=cake they don't realise actually lots of combinations of ingrediants can produce a delicious cake!

Heheh, awesome! People always seem so amazed by egg-free, dairy-free baking. Some guy was talking to me about raw food veganism, and I said I'd do it if I had the will power to give up cake, and he said "oh, so you'll eat eggs when they're baked into stuff then." I lol'd.

Also, I want chocolate cake!

I hate when people make it sound like veganism (or even vegetarianism) means cutting out every single thing a normal person might eat and just eating apples and carrots every day.
