i stopped supporting peta long ago every since i found out that they actually put down most of the healthy animals they "save" instead of trying to find proper homes for them
that's what i did. since i had already stuck them on stuff... and really regret it now.. blacked it out with a sharpie. this is seriously messed up in my opinion. this does nothing to raise awareness about animal cruelty except for maybe the "bad publicity is still publicity" tactic.
Unless the only point of this move is to generate headlines as it is doing now, I don't get it.
Who do they think is going to want to view images of porn interspersed with images of depraved animal cruelty? Who the hell is the audience for that? I think anyone who wants to see images of animal death and torture mixed in with erotic images of women has got to be seriously disturbed and probably isn't vegan or concerned about animal rights, if anything they're probably the exact opposite.

I think PETA is going to show naked celebrities and models on its porn site. It may not attract regular porn surfers as these people prefers hardcore contents which I don't think PETA would provide. However, most of the ordinary internet users will be very interested to see famous and sexy people bares it all for the animals. It will make them think why these people are willing to go so far to promote their cause.
With each porn they search on PETA's porn site, they get the message of animal sufferings. We'll see how effective it is. Time will tell
Go so far? Most celebs and models are willing to do anything if you wave enough dollar bills under their noses. The only cause PETA celebs promote is their own. Most of them aren't even vegetarian.
I was a Peta member for 22 years just recenly didnt re-new my membership for many reasons....I am not a prude in anyway but this isnt how I want to get the point across and I cant support this by any means.

Celebrities and models + nudity is not uncommon at all. Most celebrities have gotten naked for film roles or for photo shoots. I don't think people will think "Wow this celebrity is willing to get naked to save animals!". Hell most of the celebs that have gone naked for PETA's ads and campaigns are only famous because they've gotten naked and have sex tapes out.
Wow - 20 posts into a Peta bashing thread without a single person defending Peta. That's got to be a new VB record.
I agree that Peta has hit a whole new low with this one. I really think if they actually go through with this, it'll just piss off their donors more than anything else, so they'll end up losing support.
But why is this thread in the vegan subforum? It seems more appropriate for the animal issues in the news subforums. Or maybe the heap eventually, though we all seem to be agreeing with each other so far.

I'm beginning to think that this effort of PETA's is going to be simply registering their current collection of photos of famous and gorgeous and naked/semi-naked people on a XXX site and interspersed with information about animal abuses. I have no problem with that because that would reach a segment of the population who have different interests than cooking, or home-making, or stamp collecting.....
Stopped supporting PETA years ago after seeing all of the animal torture pictures they would send me all of the time. That became too painful for me to see, although it might be a wake up call for people who don't have a clue. But all of this porn and naked stuff that they are dishing out these days is ridiculous and is not going to help their cause! They keep mailing me address labels etc. and I just trash it.
I'll have to check the new site out thoroughly, before I make a judgement call....
