GhostUser | chunky guac is the best. Besides pico de gallo, guacmole is my fave dip. |

Artichoke47 | I like my guacamole a little bit chunky, too, so I can see the yellow and green color contrast, along with red from my tomatoes! |

*~*Datura*~* | I would love to find a jalapeno free guacamole where I live. I would make my own, but I can never find Advocados in my Stop & Shop!!! Does any one know of a specific brand that's not spicy? |

I only just started liking guacamole recently, still haven't tried making it myself though. I've seen recipes for guacamole made of green peas and beans, but never broccoli, none sound very appealing! |

rainbowmoon | Yeah, the last time I was at the local grocery avocados were 1.89 each. Take me to Brazil! |

Galatea | They're really expensive here too, as well as crappy and small. The avocadoes in Brazil were as big as my head and CHEAP! |

Nope, I didn't make this up. Terrible, I know. http://www.whatscookingamerica.net/A...sGuacamole.htm (asparagus) http://www.recipegoldmine.com/lowfat/lowfat66.htm (peas) http://www.e-cookbooks.net/recipes/lf812.htm (zucchini) I've heard of the broccoli "guacamole" before, but can't find a recipe for it. |

Guacamole made from broccholi or aspearagus? That's just nasty.... and wrong on so many levels. ![]() I like a nice, chunky guacamole with lime juice (not lemon, lemon makes it taste funny), garlic, a tad of salt and a bit of pepper. I love avocados, too.... ![]() |

It's good as a sandwich base in place of the usual hummus, just add assorted veggies. It's also good on baked potatoes. I make potato taquitos sometimes, but if I'm in the mood from some and don't want all the grease a baked potato with guacamole and salsa is a good alternative. Last time I was in Baja I went to the Commerical Mexicana (huge grocery store) and they had like 4 kilos of avocados for the about 80 cents and they were all perfectly ripe. I almost wept, you can't transport fruit or veg over the border. But I bought two and some fresh bolillos (hard rolls) and made the best damn sandwich I've ever eaten out in the parking lot. |

I like chunky guac. I make mine sort of salsa-like with jalapenos, tomatoes, and onions. Lots of lime juice. ![]() ![]() Of course, a smoother guac wouldn't be bad, though. So long as it's avocados in it and none of those low-fat "guacamoles" made from broccoli or asparagus. I'm sure they might be good, but if I want guac, I want me some avocado. ![]() |

I am lazy, I buy the bulk stuff from Sam's. It is really good. How else do you guys eat it besides with tortilla chips and with mexican food? Need ideas as I have a lot of it. I love it on quesadillas. Shannon |

Mmm...guacamole! My sister-in-law makes the absolute best guacamole - and it's the sole reason my husband can convince me to ever, ever go visit them in Texas. (Texas scares me.) And dang, 2 roommates in culinary school? Lucky duck! ![]() Did your roommate share her guacamole recipe with you, or just her technique? |

2 of my 3 new roommates just graduated from culinary school a year ago. One of them taught me a great trick to making guacamole. She uses a whisk and jabs at the avacado! It's not chunky at all (like I get with a fork) it's really kind of silky and bumpy... Doesn't that sound yummy? ![]() Oh, and by the way, I looooooove me some guacamole! ![]() |
