Naturebound Hi Meowiii and welcome!

I love sauerkraut also! I like to eat tempeh, cabbage, and sauerkraut sandwiches (red lentils also work if you can't find tempeh anywhere). Or sauerkraut with red potatoes.

It's really great to have you here! I hope to see you around the forum.

David3 Hi meowiii,

Your English is fantastic!

If soy meats are expensive where you live, there is no need to buy them. Beans and whole grains are good sources of protein, and they should not be expensive.

Mercy For Animals has a free, well-written Vegetarian Starter Guide (it is actually vegan). The nutrition part of the guide starts on page 7. http://www.mercyforanimals.org/files/VSG.pdf

Sometimes, the best vegan recipes are just modified versions of your favorite foods. In many recipes, meat can be substituted with beans, tofu, lentils, or canned vegetarian chili.

Hello from the Netherlands

Hi there,

I'm a nineteen year old girl from the Netherlands. Apart from huskies (and animals in general ) I like writing , music and reading.

My favorite ingredients are pumpkin, eggplant and sauerkraut. I'm vegetarian for little over a year now and I'm looking to slowly slip into a full vegan diet but I'm having some difficulty with that as alternatives can be quite expensive (I'm a student on a tight budget) and I live with an omnivore.

I'm hoping to find likeminded people here as well as recipes. I'm about to purchase my first vegan cookbook and I'm not sure yet as to which one I'll pick.

Also please don't mind my English, it's not my first language.

Love,

N
