silva Actually it does taste like cauliflower by itself but it gets masked easy.

Surprising no! I used a good amount of garlic, and black pepper and the cauliflower was not very strong. I added a bit of the Better then Boullion no chicken to my bowl and that was really good. If you used more herbs or stronger spices it would really be masked.
I made this in my Soyajoy soy milk maker BTW.

I think if you added some tomatoes it would be a good tomato bisque

I'm going to add some nutritional yeast to a bowl right now.

ehh... the nut yeast made it taste like nut yeast, and it took a lot to do that.
I'm sure others will say it tastes just like cheese....

Dave in MPLS Does the basic cauliflower + cashew base have a neutral flavor? It looks like it would make everything taste like cream of cauliflower.

Naturebound I just made this a few nights ago and poured it over rutabagas and green beans. I also added Better than Boullion no chicken base. I used blanched almonds in place of cashews (intolerance to cashews). Very good! I highly recommend this also! Glad you shared it here. Cauliflower is amazing as a sauce. Who would have ever thought? This is one more reason I love being vegan. The creativity and ingenuity of making such great recipes with such simple ingredients!

Perfect vegan cream soup

This is so very versatile, and easy

Head of fresh cauliflower chopped (or frozen I quess?)
garlic- I used 6 cloves
1/2 cup of raw cashews
just enough water to cover
boil till completely soft then blend with immersion blender or regular blender

This makes a thick, creamy soup that is perfect for taking on whatever additions you'd like. I added Better than Boullion No chicken base, and black pepper for what was better than cream of chik;n soup.
Sauteed diced mushrooms
Carmelized onions
You name it's good. Perfect as a sauce, for rissoto, for casseroles
