jml02080419 My BF orders out for lunch at work 2x week in this way its our compromise so I cook less meat at home for him. He also has been great about cutting back boxed, packaged, jar or canned foods ( he will eat that stuff but I wont touch any of it) . We have no pantry other than one shelf for baggies of spices and our freezer is only used if I make extra tomatoe sauce or bean soup otherwise it stays empty. I share the freezer part because its what has helped me stay organic and fresh. It means I go to the store every couple days to get what I need. To keep the cost down because it can be higher to eat healthy vegan I purchase whats on sale those days and plan my cooking around that. My favorite saying is: If it grows in a plant do not eat it but if you plant it then do :-)

If I lived alone, I would probably eat whole foods all the time. Now I have an omni partner who I bribe with veggie meat a couple of times a week. He also likes his dressings and sauces so we buy vegan varieties of them. I enjoy eating with him so I think it's a fair trade-off. Inspiring him to eat as close to a vegan diet as possible is more important to me than eating super "clean". I love eating only whole foods though, it gives me a sense of inner peace and self care.
Ahh yes. the bribe with veggie meat!! I know it well... My bf is slowly becoming veg... he won't admit it, but I offered him meat (left over in freezer) or my fake meat and he went for the fake meat. slowly slowly... I think he is getting it i'm proud of him! He resisted at first, now it's like he agrees with vegetarianism! Yipee!

odizzido I don't eat any of the stuff you mentioned.

I will buy premade curries because the amount of time it takes to make them is really huge. My tomatoes are canned most of the time as well. It kinda depends though because a lot of stuff doesn't well grow where I live so it's sent really far in a truck and "fresh" week in a truck fruits/veggies aren't super great. I love late summer though because you can get locally grow tomatoes/peaches/etc that are really really good. Super good. I can eat like 15 of those peaches a day easy.

And you never have to check ingredients if you stay in produce and bulk!

River My partner is vegan as well, I don't think I could be happy in life with an omni partner, and he has raised his kid vegan since he was born, but he still likes the vegan version of typical kid stuff.

We have, in the past, tried 80/10/10 but that lasts like, one day before one or the other of us wants roasted potatoes or something lol.

jml02080419 My guy is not vegan or vegetarian and I am the cook in the house so I cook separate meals. I don't have to worry about kiddos as they are all grown. I heard of rawtill4 but know nothing about it. I say it would be hard to eat raw but so much of what I eat already is that way that sometimes I wonder if I will just eventually end up raw vegan :-)

EdithElaine I've been trying my best :')

Been slowly transitioning to RawTill4, though I can't ee myself ever being 100% raw.

River I trrrrrry to stick to shopping only in the produce and bulk areas, but it doesn't always work particularly if my partner's kidlet is over. While everyone's vegan, kidlet does like his veggie nuggets and things. When kidlet is with his mom we are 70% raw whole foods.

anyone else vegan/99% no packaged foods

In my vegan life style I have a hard time finding vegans that eat like I do. I am 99% package free, processed free. This means I do not in my daily life use more than 1% processed packaged example 1/4 tsb olive oil IF needed or something like that. I don't use added sugar or salts. People always say OMG what do you eat! I say everything its amazing what you can make raw or cook the vegan way. Does anyone out there who is vegan on this board not eat the tofurkey, fake meats and cheeses and fake dairy?
