Hello, everyone...just wanted to post about an activism opportunity in Metro Detroit this upcoming week, for anybody in the area. An animal rights group I belong to will be demonstrating against the Ringling Bros. Circus outside the Palace of Auburn Hills, this upcoming Wednesday through Sunday. Last year, Ringling Bros. was hit with a $270,000 fine, the largest in circus history for violations of the Animal Welfare Act dating back to 2007. Below are a few quick links about horrifying abuse in animal circuses in general, as well as incidences, violations and legal issues specific to Ringling Bros.:

Here is a list of times we'll be meeting to demonstrate:
Wednesday, 11/7...6:00pm to 7:30pm Thursday, 11/8...6:00pm to 7:30pm Friday, 11/9...9:30am to 11:00am and 6:00pm to 7:30pm Saturday, 11/10...10:30am to 11:30am, 2:00pm to 3:30pm and 6:00pm to 7:30pm Sunday, 11/11...12:00pm to 1:00pm and 3:30pm to 5:00pm
We'll be outside the entrance closest to I-75. We'll be demonstrating to incoming and passing car traffic rather than foot traffic. We need as many people as possible to help hold signs and banners, and generally make as big a statement as we can, with our presence.
For more information and specifics, please message me. Thanks so much! |
