vegan cyberpunk I only play when there is some serious roleplay. I just cannot stand the i passed a new level or i have a level 3 sword or let s raid the boss talks. It just kills the atmosphere for me.

so i rather play on MUDs wich have no graphics but are thousand times much more enjoyable, and free.

Ha! Thank god those days are over - yay for tables and one button buffs! Still a pain in the butt when a few ppl ask for water/food and then no one clicks on the lil conjure portal. ><

VeganWoWer I'm all for adding anyone on here to battle id so I guess pm me for the info.

VeganWoWer This is why I love my mage I don't know if it's as much of a face roll as others (ahem - hunter), but good enough for me. Ha ha. I can't give you too many tips since I just returned - except that frost spec is usually pvp and arcane is pve. Although lately I've seen a few fire mages kick ass in the battlegrounds. I'm still debating on how serious I'll be getting again. I started as ally (back in October 2009) because I didn't have burning crusade or wrath and that is where I made my friends (I probably would have chosen blood elves if I had BC at the time). Our guild had an odd falling out and I went over to horde and a couple people from that side followed and I've been horde for the majority of time I've played, but I play both. I am leveling a night elf rogue on Kel'Thuzad right now. I kinda like leveling with no money or boa from an alt. It's like starting the game over again. I get pretty bored in raids and the ADD kicks in - I guess I could start working out while everyone yells at each other and tries to figure out what is going on if I start to raid again. I just tend to get pug groups that talk about the fights way more than actually fighting. I don't care if I wipe over and over but shut the hell up and let's play you know? lol. Anyway - I guess I'm in the minority because leveling, quests, and exploration are my favorite parts of the game. Bg's and arenas after that. Dungeons and raids would be fun with friends, but so far - it's just not my thing. Too much prep and I like the freedom of jumping on and off whenever.

Oh snap! That's my kind of character!

Dedalus I played for 2 years - then just got busy with other things. I have started up again though. As a musician I always tell myself that every minute I spend on WoW is time I could be creating music...but then again gaming is a great escape in itself. (The rewards are just not as tangible.)

I made quite a few friends in the game and it is cool to team up with them since I'm really just a hack player. I love Pvp though I get wiped quite a bit. To me the exploration of the world is more fun that actually completing the quests. The quests get awfully dull - grinding mob after mob. They could improve greatly on that aspect. I play characters on both Horde and Alliance - Hunter, Rogue, Warlock and Mage. (The Mage char is really new - I know nothing yet about playing a Mage. (Any tips?) I await the new talent tree that is coming with the expansion.

Oh - and Welcome to VB!

I know what you mean and Blizz actually said they thought they were losing customers based on the fact they didn't bring expansions out quickly enough....0.o - maybe for the 10% that are hardcore Southpark-esque players lol.

I play a Tauren druid on Twisting Nether and dual spec. as a tank and feral dps for our raid team as well as for battlegrounds. I've also got a Tauren shaman (which I heal on) but I don't play her quite as often.

I play all of the other 'crafts' too. Starcraft...Minecraft...

I don't play any other games. I used to play Civ 4 and Age of Empires. Sims was my first computer game and then I played Runecraft on and off - never paying for it. Most of my toons are on Ysondre (all horde), but I am leveling a few on Emerald Dream (all ally) and now Kel'Thuzad. My main used to be my dk, but now I switched to a mage - so happy I did once they removed the portals ha ha. I had a large guild before I left and I still have it, but now I'm the only one in it with my husband. He's not as into the game - he's too busy to get into it anyway. Neither of us are hardcore raiders. I like pvp more. Other than us - I have a few acquaintances on the game and one very dear friend. I don't have many vegans in my life so figured I'd try to find a few that may share a little something beyond being vegan.

I started playing a few months after Wrath came out. At first I didn't get the appeal, then I met a bunch of people and we all got very close and had a lot of fun. So I was addicted for about 6-8 months, but after that I have been on and off. I planned on taking off for a year, but rumors are flying PoM will be out very soon and I didn't want to miss any world events because unfortunately or fortunately depending on the perspective - Blizz got me with the cuddly + cute + badass aspect and I love the Asian influence on the lands. I'm not an rp'er, but I do appreciate the scenery - speaking of I played Aeon for a few weeks - pretty game, but not nearly as developed as WoW. WoW is to rpg's what Disney World is to amusement parks, imo.

Maybe a beta, I dunno tbh, I started playing wow because my boyfriend did and he said it had been released only 2 months when I started to play.

Savvington I'm really sceptical about that. I just don't see how it could be translated to a modern game without becoming Skyrim or a not-so-MMO version of an MMO, with weaker enemies. Running around smashing monsters to bits was just cheap mindless fun, and a way to get to the next cinematic.

EDIT: that isn't the original btw, just to be clear. Korobeiniki is a Russian folk song iirc.

StarCraft was fun back in its day. Dumb unit AI though. That along with Total Annihilation, Warzone 2100, and Command & Conquer were my first real forays into RTS. Unfortunately I never really liked multiplayer in that sort of game, as it all boils down to obsession and finding the few most perfect strategies. Great if you want to compete in tournaments or something, but I'd have more fun playing Tetris.

TA had epic music though.

Windigo I do play WoW, and have done that since it was released in 2005. It's ever changing and expanding and there's a very big community playing it, and I like a game where I can play with my friends

But I've never been addicted to it, I've got loads of other things I enjoy and do. And I'm on an European server, so I won't be meeting you guys sadly.

Savvington I've played it years ago, but never really got the attraction. Looks like a bad cartoon, a fair portion of the players sound like youtube commenters and/or are children (actually, my kid cousin used to play back then and he was like eight), and the entire point of the game seems to be doing progressively more boring things so you can get better equipment to go do more boring things. Eventually you get to fight ridiculously strong but completely retarded NPC's for hours... yaaay.

Still, I guess there must be something to it considering the number of players. I figure it's like soaps and reality TV: there's clearly some reason they exist, but it's totally lost on me.

So what, you've got to stop eating... eggs? Honey (apparently)? I'm not too familiar with the minutiae of being vegan. Or is it some sort of lifestyle changes you need to make now to complete the transition?

And yes, I agree that probably most debates on the internet are entirely useless. Debates in general, even. I don't even try to convince other people when I argue, I just use them as a way to put my own thoughts to the test. Mostly it's stuff I don't even believe, or don't know if I believe yet, and I just throw it out there to see what happens. Good way to find flaws in your theories without having to think too hard about them yourself.

EDIT: I don't get the awakening thing though. Are you referring to people sort of knowing what their food is, but never actually thinking much about it? Something more/less literal?
04-11-2012 06:47 PM
vegkid Welcome!

As for WoW, I haven't touched it and have in fact vehemently avoided doing so because I know I'd become hopelessly addicted to it, and I'm already a slave to Minecraft and freemium games on my phone that I don't need something else interesting to waste my money and time on.

Elliot8855 Hi and welcome.

VeganWoWer I used to be pretty addicted to the game a couple years ago, but interest has since been put into perspective. I took 5 months off and I'm just now getting back to it before the new expansion comes out.

But anyway - you probably already have a thread about gaming so as for the intro. I am working on going vegan. I don't eat dairy or meat. I do value my life and other humans above animals, but I do my best to live my life without harming others - especially now that I've been awakened to what meat and dairy really are. I try my best to be patient with others who don't get it yet, as that awakening cannot be forced unfortunately.

I probably won't post a lot - I just enjoy reading posts and I hate arguments, but love logical debates if that makes any sense. Most internet debates turn into nasty silly arguments so I steer clear.

Much luv Xoxo.
