VegRunnerLady Lots and lots of awesome food. I'm going to have dreams about the Baja tempeh tacos I ate

It was fairly small, but I think it was the first one in Asheville, so I'm looking forward to it being bigger and having more vendors next year. We didn't stay very long, but I know they had some bands playing and various nutritionists speaking. Some of the local animal santuaries were there and people were sponsoring animals, so that was pretty cool. My husband was excited about ordering food and asking what was vegan? and getting the answer "Everything!"

whisper The Asheville VegFest presented by the Asheville vegetarians and Goat Mountain Sanctuary.

August 7, 2011 - Sunday, 12pm - 7pm

We are proud to announce that on Sunday, August 7th, 2011, we will be hosting the 1st annual Asheville VegFest! We are all so excited and know that Asheville is long overdue for a vegetarian festival. Asheville VegFest will take place at Battery Park Ave from Noon-7pm in beautiful downtown Asheville! The festival will be promoted in local magazines, newspapers, radio, websites, e-mail groups, social networking sites, and on flyers around Western North Carolina and beyond.

The festival will include food vendors serving an all vegan menu, product vendors, educational speakers, local nonprofits, kids' activities (face painting, games, et cetera), and live dancing /entertainment.
