peace | Good news, but we shouldn't declare victory yet. The animal movement did that with the Canadian seal hunt 20 years ago--and look what happened. |

vefo | This is good news, I was in the surf a couple of weeks ago when a whale gracefully passed within 50 meters of me, they are a wonderful beast. |

I hope it happens soon ![]() Quote:
Hah, they really should. The shark fin industry is barbaric.. But it's a lot harder to get people interested in saving "Big bad" sharks. |

sallyomally | I have so much respect and admiration for Capt. Watson and his crew. Some folks would have given up long ago, but these guys keep fighting the good fight. |

GhostUser | What great news. The world has developed a tiny little conscience (sort of) in the case of whales and the Japanese are running afoul of that slight movement, and in large part, thanks to the Sea Shepherd and crew. They make it known and obvious that this is wrong on so many levels, and its only when things go on in secret that 'evil' can continue. The Japanese must think that 'the world' is plenty stupid to believe the research line. Three cheers for Paul Watson and crew. You guys are fabulous!!!! |

(WHALES / OCEAN CONSERVATION) After years of defending marine wildlife, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society may have finally won the whale war with Japan. It seems as though Sea Shepherds work, coupled with a shrinking demand for whale meat, has made the continuation of whale killing emanating from Japan unlikely. A permanent end to whaling in Japan would bring us that much closer to worldwide whale safety. Congratulations to Paul Watson and the tireless Sea Shepherds who have been at it for years, long before a show, long before international stardom and long before anybody else cared enough to put it all on the line.
