Jon I'd heard great things about the Gary Jules song, but expected it to be much darker. I've heard nothing of the new Darkness song, but based on the last, don't expect it to be dark at all.

Christmas is not traditionally a time when just great music gets to #1, e.g.

1968 - Lily The Pink by Scaffold

1969 - Two Little Boys by Rolf Harris

1971 - Ernie by Benny Hill

1972 - Long Haired Lover From Liverpool by Jimmy Osmond

(27/12/80 - There's No-one Quite Like Grandma by St Winifred's School Choir )

1982 - Save Your Love by Renee and Renato

2000 - Can We Fix It by Bob The Builder

2002 - Sound Of The Underground by Girls Aloud

I wouldn't rule out The Cheeky Girls - Have a Cheeky Christmas just yet....

As long as its not Cliff (again! He's had three already) or Westlife, I don't care.

If I did, then from the current top 10 then I would prefer Evanescence - My Immortal or The Black Eyed Peas - Shut Up.

Don't rule out Ozzy though...

A couple of sites I visited...

Loki this is directed mainly att he Brits on the board, but come on, whaddya think? Gary Jules or The Darkness?

I like both songs, myself, but for some reason, I'd love to see Gary Jules take the top spot this year. It may be a depressing song, but it's certainly a good one! And the darkness song is like queen mixed with slade - A winning combination!!!
