Are you sure that's stimulus or punishment?

Beancounter I've been out of the loop on tax changes for years after I left public accounting, but Bush Senior tried something like this, and it turned out to be nothing more than an adjustment to the W/H tables.

I beleive married couples will be getting a tax credit of $800 (singles $400) for the 2009 tax year, which will be offset by the decreased w/h.

But personally, I haven't noticed a significant change in my take home pay

I thought it was the former, but haven't actually looked at it specifically. What's your understanding of it?

unovegan man, i need to find out how to get the low flow showerheads. I already have the clothesline, bulbs, etc. but that would be useful as we haul water and are tight with it's use. We received the 200.00 or so payment and used it for bills rather than to stimulate the economy.

Beancounter Nothing personally.

All we got was some repaved roads that didn't need to be repaved. Busy work that was "shovel ready"

delicious A couple of days ago, 2 people came to my house to do an environmental assessment. They gave me some energy-efficient light bulbs, a clothesline, and low-flow shower heads. They would have given me other things, too, if I hadn't already had them (such as a thermostat timer). This was all part of the stimulus package, and they did it for everyone in my neighborhood who'd signed up.
