I'm new to this forum, although I've been a vegetarian since 1973.
Although it is easy being a vegetarian just for health reasons (after all, all health advisories advise eating more grains, fruits and veggies; none tell you to eat more meat), I consider myself an ethical vegetarian.
I remember all of the "green" initiatives back in the late '60s. I remember the first Earth Day, over forty years ago.
And now, "green" is back once again. The jaded, world-weary cynic that I am fears that it is mostly lip service, once again.
Even though Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" was excellent at hand-wringing, this documentary (which I loved) completely ignored the inconvenient fact that just being a vegetarian is the easiest and best thing you can do for the planet: more than recycling, more than riding a bicycle, more than playing with a Frisbee once a year on Earth Day.
