I won't be able to attend either unfortunately. We just made a trip to Orlando last weekend and our finances are a bit tight.

| chryssiie718 | No responses on here in a long time.... I guess we aren't gonna be able to do the Meetup. We have encountered a problem ourselves as my son totaled his car and now we must share our truck. This creates an enormous problem with our freedom since he has a job. I really wanted to meet some of you and wanted to go to Ethos but since no one has said anything in a LONG time, I guess it won't happen. Maybe next year will be better for everyone or we could try to do a meet-up on our own. |

Talking to hubby about this.. he would have to take Nov 1 off to make it there. Our anniversary is on Oct 28 but he's having a football party that day  (yeah, and I got some leverage because of it  ). So I was thinking maybe we could make an anniversary weekend out of this event... I've never been to Disney so we could go to the meetup on the 1st and spend the next two days (his 'weekend') at Disney or something. We might be able to work it out.Quote:

I think everyone agrees that a vegan restaurant is what we would like to do. Since Ethos is the only one I have ever been to, I will nominate them. There is the lovely park across the street as well and since I am bringing 2 kids, they need something to do either before or after dining! You can check out the restaurant online and the park too. The location is fairly easy to get to off of the interstate and there is a large free parking lot a block away. I hope we can get everyone to come! We will need a "head count" and Ethos would need to know about a large group coming in. |

I've only ever been to one vegetarian restaurant in my life, and it was a fast food falafel place that only remained veg for about a year before adding meat to the menu. But I have been to Pine Garden in Boca Raton many times. It's a Chinese restaurant with a separate vegan menu with over 100 items to choose from! --Fromper

A potluck could work if folks don't want to do a restaurant, though we eat out so seldom, it would be a nice treat for us, though a potluck would be cheaper! There are several nice parks but the beach is kinda far as Orlando is in the middle of the state! Theme parks cost a FORTUNE!! I think ONE ticket is $80 to any of them, plus parking, and food may be a problem as we found out recently. Keep bring the ideas! Everyone!!

Oh! Well then we're all new at this! I like the park idea. What about perhaps hosting a picnic potluck if we don't do a restaurant? Is there beaches locally? Or perhaps, the theme parks would be nice.... Just some ideas to throw around, I'm here to help!! |
